Compassion and Gratitude

November 5, 2012 at 1:44 pm UTC

I had a thought yesterday while conducting the Soaring Leap workshop in Dallas: by the time my career is over I will have looked directly into the eyes of hundreds of thousands of people, maybe millions, all while we are performing together or meeting afterwards. These moments are so personal, so intimate, so HUMAN I feel as if I am being slowly polished into a more compassionate person, the rough edges dissolving away year after year like a stone in a river.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to each and every one of you with whom I have had the privilege of meeting and making music; I am so profoundly grateful for this beautiful life I get to lead.
