Goodbye, Evangelyna

Friends: our beautiful friend Evangelyna Etienne has finally passed after her long battle with cancer; she turned 21 just a few days ago. I featured her in my TED talk, and performed with her live in NYC just over a year ago.

She was such a beautiful soul, so warm and giving and full of life, and I will miss her terribly.

    I am so saddened to hear this. Although I did not have a chance to meet her, as with anyone who participated in this project, I felt as if I almost knew her, especially since she was a fellow Bostonian. This is such sad news. I know her involvement in this project must have provided her some comfort and joy during her battle.

    I am saddened to hear this news. I had the pleasure of singing with Evangelyna @ Carnegie Hall and sharing an impromptu meal & silly conversation in our hotel just before that performance. She was a consummate musician and a beautiful spirit. She will be deeply missed.

    I am evangelyna Etienne cousin and I was still am lost for words. My heart still aches knowing that I will never be able to see her again until it’s my time to be with the lord. My cousin was an amazing beautiful gifted n a humble person she loved her family and friends deeply. She had the voice of angel my god Is all I can say. The lord took her on sept 11 to her battle of cancer I cried ally of tears and I’m still crying as of today. evangelyna I love you my dear cousin I will never forget who you are and what kind of person you were say hi to Aunty, grandma for me continue to do your work for the lord and keep singing with that wonderful voice of yours. I would like to thank vangie school and her collegues what an amazing homegoing service i definitely felt my cousins spirit in there. From my family to you guys thank you for all you done for vangie and with her love you all R.I.P Evangelyna Etienne love you
