September 22, 2010 at 11:27 pm UTC

Here we go, gang. For the next version of the Virtual Choir we will sing Sleep, and this time around, we’re shooting for the Guinness title of “world’s largest internet choir.” We’ll need at least 900 singers, so all of you are invited. Any age is welcome.

Please visit the official youtube page to see the instruction videos and the conductor track, and visit the Virtual Choir page to download the sheet music.

Let’s make history!

    Hi Eric,

Just wondering if you have any notes on the interpretation of the piece for us, like you did at the start of the Lux conductor track?

  • JK

    Ah, never mind, found them!

  • Victoria Olivier

AWESOME! I'm getting started on it right now! :D

  • Kyle Gunby

  • Zack

love the still that youtube put on your video. lol and I CAN'T WAIT TO DO THIS!

  • Molly

I was wondering if it is listed anywhere how long we have to record and post our videos on youtube. I just finished uploading my 1st video but I may want to take some more time to take out a couple of small mistakes that are driving me batty. If anyone knows please let me know in a comment here! Thank you! So excited!!

Very excited about this! Thank you.

I'm VERY excited about this. My college choir is currently doing this song. We had to vote between a couple songs and this one won hands down. We are also doing With A Lily In Your Hand. The syncopation is slightly killing us (we just received the score), but it's amazing. Thank you so much for doing this again.

I'm super nervous with this one! I definitely don't want to let you down on this Eric!

  • Dorothea Kamara

Yeah, what Molly said, is there a set deadline for this time around as well? Because this time, I'm gonna do all four womens' voice parts, and I just wanna know how much time I would have to get that done. In the meantime, I will get started on practicing. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW IT WILL TURN OUT THIS TIME!!! EEEK ^_^

  • Clare Scott

Eric, I watched this TED talk earlier today and thought of you. I'm sure you could make excellent use of this kind of technology. http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/john_underkoffl

I´m so excited about this! I started practising yesterday and I convinced another soprano friends of mine to take part too.

I feel so privileged just to be given a possibility to join this virtual choir. I have just downloaded the tenor part and i am going to practice.

God willing i will be part of this historical movement.

  • JK

Ooh, singing multiple parts, now there's an idea! I'm going to give that a go so.

  • Lauren

I thought the deadline was December 31st, I swear I saw that somewhere but I can't remember. This gives me time for school and to work on a video! :D

I really love this pieces since quite time ago; Sleep is one of my favorites, of course, and it would be great to join VC.

I'm preparing myself and also spreading the VC info in my local area. Maybe we could be the first here in Colombia :)

  • Francesca

I was just wondering what the deadline is to post our videos. I've been super busy but I am definitely committed to submitting a video! I seriously cannot wait to be a part of this :) Thank you!
