Eric is honored to have been named the first-ever Artist in Residence with the Los Angeles Master Chorale – a leading creative force in the choral world. The two-year post begins in the 2016-17 Season and will see Eric act as creative consultant for the Chorale as well as guest conducting the “A Cappella Christmas” concert on 4 December 2016 and taking part in the 2017 Chorus America Conference.

“Eric Whitacre is a true original,” says CEO Jean Davidson. “His singular vision, bold concepts, powerful artistry and global reach through new technologies will impact the Los Angeles Master Chorale in myriad ways.”

“Over the years, the LA Master Chorale has shown a deep affinity for Eric’s choral works,” adds Artistic Director Grant Gershon. “We are pleased to expand our relationship with him in such a meaningful way. Eric possesses a phenomenally fertile imagination, and I look forward to working closely with him as we explore new creative avenues together.”
