Virtual Choir 5 is now LIVE

June 5, 2018 at 3:12 pm UTC

Head over to VirtualChoir5.com to find out more and sign up to record your video!

Eric Whitacre invites you to join your voice with thousands of others from around the world in Virtual Choir 5: Deep Field.

VC5 will take part in a performance of Deep Field, Eric’s work for symphony orchestra, chorus and electronica, inspired by one of the most important scientific discoveries of all time – the Deep Field images captured by the Hubble Space Telescope. Their discovery is a tale of human aspiration, endeavor, wonder and extraordinary scientific vision.

We want to make this Virtual Choir as accessible as possible so singers do not have to read music to participate. Just watch Eric’s video tutorials, practice, get comfortable, record and submit – it’s simple. There are new vocal parts for Deep Field written by Eric especially for VC5 to float above the existing orchestral, choral and electronica tracks. Also, for the first time ever, we have made it possible for you to record your video on a mobile device. The Deep Field film will be created by a team of gifted creatives, scientists and imagineers at the Space Telescope Science Institute and 59 Productions. The film will be released late in 2018. As well as online, we anticipate that it will be available in planetariums, art & science festivals, in concert halls and space agency sites the world over.

We have a technical support team backed by a great community of experienced online singers to share in your passion and assist you throughout the process. Every submission will be included so please join us!
