    Dear Mr. Whitacre,

The video isn't visible from germany, yet (if you don't use an USA located proxy) due to copyright issues. Maybe there's a solution…

    regards,

    Maik

    • Thomas

Yes, it#s a pitty. Due to restrictions we cannot see the video we have waited for so long in germany. Please, help Eric and your super team.

But I just saw the preview from TED. Its marvelous. I’m impressed. Thanks to all that have paticipated. It would have only half the fun without you all.

  • Peter

This is so amazing. Im thrilled. But unfortunately I just found an error in the part, where all the participants are named. In the tenor section you used two times the headline Tenor 2. There are no first tenors.

  • http://www.vwd.co.za Francois Botha

Goosebumps! It's stunning. Can we download an HD version somewhere?

  • Ivan Paunovic

So, so beautiful! I'm so sad I wasn't part of it. This is the dream come true, the music that united the world.

Absolutely breathtaking. Well done, Eric and singers! We did it!

  • Jared

If only I had known about it before the submission date! This is excellent–I can't wait to be a part of the next one.

  • charlie rome

Fab video – love the imagery of all the different nations being linked together.

Spotted one error – in the credits Tenor 1 is mis-labelled as Tenor 2.

Otherwise fab, please keep me posted for the next one. (I only found out about this late and only had time to record Tenor1/2 and bass 1 but would have tried to do all 8 parts if I had the time ;-)

  • RK

I love how you did it — so beautiful!

  • Senia

We did it! Can't wait for the next project. Thank YOU, Eric!

  • Brandon Foster

    Absolutely amazing!

  • Jean Chevalier

Wow. I just think that this is so amazing. It brought tears to my eyes. How can I be a part of this?

  • John Sturt

I can think of few other words than wonderful, amazing and thunderstruck! Oh, add in "awe inspiring" as well. The world has been united, and it's amazing to think that all this came from the mind of two wonderful creative artists. Eric Whitacre and Charles Anthony Silvestri…then there are the thousands who endeavoured to make the world whole…wow!

  • http://www.youtube.com/xoclkox Courtney Lea K

Whoa…new layout for the background is purty! lol

Anyways, absolutely adored the video! Couldn't control the tears that were streaking down my cheeks as I was watching the premiere. Absolutely the most gorgeous video that I have seen in a long time that was not only stunning both visually and audibly, but also moving and touching. Well done sir! Couldn't have done it without you!

  • Brent Woods

    Absolutely sensational!

I'm honoured to have been a part of this piece and look forward to the next one.

  • Michael D.

This video is censored in Germany like many other youtube videos featuring some kind of commercial music.

    Please fix that!

  • Umberto

I just love it – great work – a master-piece – can't wait to see the next project. Thanks for sharing this with everyone.

    Greetings from Austria (EU) :)

  • Arlette

    Fantastic !

I shared your performance with all singers of our choir

    Kind regards,

  • MJ Reilly

Amazing and beautiful! I love choir music, but this gives me chills and hope that all will be right in the world.

    • MJ Reilly

I wish I knew about this before the NPR story yesterday. So cool!

  • http://www.ensouling.com Em

This is beautiful, inspiring, thought-provoking, wonderful. The music is lovely, the singers amazing, the visuals stunning.

    What a gift.

    We are truly all connected.

  • Jace

A relative of mine posted this on her Facebook page yesterday: "Do you remember the old coke commercial where people held hands and sang? I think that's what I needed to renew my faith in people…." I've just sent her the link to VC Sleep. Hope it will help in some small way.

  • Joe Lee

Too bad that this video cannot be seen in all countries due to copyright issues. I guess only you can resolve this issue as you are the copyright owner. Please allow youtube to show this video in those countries as well or make it at least available on your own site!

    Thanks!

  • Darrell Polka

It's moving to just watch the credits, in that it's like watching the olympics when all those nationalities join together in unison to accomplish something bigger than themselves. Virtual Choir 1.0 & 2.0 have shown that anything is possible when people join together to create something beautiful & lasting. I feel like I have 2052 friends!!

  • Brian Federal

    Thank You

  • Miggy Torres

    Woo Hoo!!!

  • Nicky Kay

It's strange to record yourself, by yourself, only hearing yourself…but the end product is magical. I'm so glad I was a part. Can't wait to be a part of the next one too.

  • Matthias Binzer

The Youtube video ist not avaiable in Germany !? Why ???

I'd love to see the video!

    Greets from Germany

“This video is not available in your country” :(

  • http://www.Der-Zeichner.de Friedhelm Leistner

    Hi Eric,

we were part of it, but now we are not able to watch the result because youtube blocks the video in Germany. Any suggestions?

    very disappointed

    FRED

  • http://www.ian-justman.com Ian R. Justman

I absolutely enjoyed watching this performance.

I saw all these individual people where they were in the world bringing a part of themselves out. And you could hear them build up the music, layer by layer. My favorite part was when the music reached its climax, we pull out, revealing row upon row of these individual people until we see a "constellation" of all 2052 voices doing something truly special together, weaving a beautiful fabric of music.

If and when Eric decides to do a "Virtual Choir 3.0", I am very much on board this project. I need something to scratch my increasingly-hard-to-ignore performing arts itch.

    Thank you for providing this.

    –Ian.

  • http://andersbrownworth.com/ Anders Brownworth

So THAT's what 2,000 sound like!

  • Bob Monsour

This is absolutely wonderful. I just watched the TED talk and shared it on facebook only to learn that VC 2.0 had been released, so I had to share that too.

What an incredible piece of work. Thank you for inspiring so many around the world to connect with their voices!

  • Shelley Stephen

I SO wish I had heard of this and been a part of it. This is an awesome effort and I congratulate every one of you…..and would love to be in your 2nd alto section next time!

Im so glad to see this performance!

  • Kenneth george

I first saw this at TED a couple of weeks ago. I was impressed then. And now that I see the whole thing, I am amazed. All is well in the world.

    Well done and God bless.

  • Johnathan Ledbetter

    Dear Mr. Whitacre

I had performed your song 'sleep' last year when I was dragged to an entirely different school against my will. I hated that school and that song was very touching to me. This school year, my teacher showed my class your speech at TED. Your speech really brought light to my bottled up feelings. After showing us your speech, she showed us The Virtual Choir 2.0. During that performance, I was in tears because of the beauty of the music. I was never moved as I was when I watched that performance. All I have to say is that thank you, you have touched my life in a way that no one ever has. Thank you.

    Johnathan

  • Sean McGarry

Hey Mr. Whitacre, when's 3.0 coming? Arizona wants in on this =)

  • Darlene Harland

Love, Love, Love it!! What an inspiration Eric. Thank you for sharing your vision. Would love to join you on your next virtual venture…….Namaste

  • John Hensley

    Absolutely beautiful….keep them coming =)

  • Howell Altoveros

Very nice and i really love it, i just hope i could take part for the next release of masterpiece sooner or later…

  • Hartmut

What a nuisance! The video is still not available in Germany.

  • Jonathan Mark MacPhe

This is the real beauty of choral music. Where the Tongue of wisdom fails in speech, the heart of music articulates it precisely. I so want to be a part of this amazing project. Bravo virtual choir 2.0, Bravo Mr Whitacre

  • Al Schoen

UNBELIEVABLE. I have never heard something so beautiful and, as an IT professional for over 44 years, so amazing.

I took a look at the "instructions" for the performance and it in itself is amazing.

    Congratulations to everyone !!

How touching idea, breaking down boundaries by a universal language of mankind in tune forever! A Nobel Peace price for Eric Whitacre! Congratulations to all, be proud of being an instrument of peace

  • Leigh Michel

    Amazing and AWE-inspiring !!!

  • Clarsa

A choir with which I sing is doing a ten year "September 11, 2001" memorial concert, featuring pieces from a Christian mass, and no involvement with the Muslim community. I find it distasteful. Particularly for choral work, unity is what it's all about. I'd love to see a choral piece uniting voices from Iraq, Afghanistan, the US, and the United Arab Emirates and other countries around the world – something that addresses the pointless perpetuation of suffering.

  • Anika Adams

this was amazing! i'm so in love with the idea:) i wish i had known about it sooner:) congratulations to all involved, you've done amazingly:)

  • Kathy Swenson

this is the best use of technology I've seen yet (outside of medical care :))

  • Aida Kadic

pure magic! I would loove to participate in the next project!

  • Mae Christenson

    Eric,

I loved the piece that you recently did, Sleep. It moved me to tears it was so beautiful. I was wondering when you are going to do the next virtual choir, because I would really like to be a part of it and be a part of the music making group just like this one.

I am so glad that you started to do this and how it is making an impact on other peoples lives in some small (or huge) way.

    ~Mae~

  • Tracey Turner

Wow, cried and cried, that was amazing. Wish I could read music, would love to have taken part. Eric you are an inspiration, feel like I have witnessed a miracle.

  • Paul

I'm ready for the next Virtual Choir! I am looking forward to the new challenge..!

  • Bridgett Beichler

    Hey Eric!
This is just magical. Wish I would have researched being apart of virtual choir 2.0 more and posted a video. It would have been so wonderful to look back and show my kids, grand kids…etc. But anyways, any word on Virtual Choir 3.0? I will DEFINITELY be posting a video for that.

    Thanks!

  • Ann McCann

Heard on NPR – had to stop the car, pull over and listen.
