Crawling Out of the Cave
Just finished the King’s Singers commission, The Stolen Child. Good God that piece took it’s toll – I think I’m three years older this morning.
I thought that I’d be able to write about the creative process while I was in the thick of it, but this one was just brutal. I’ll write all about it over the next couple of days. I also have a lot of your questions that I want to get to, especially concerning composing and the creative process.
I will say this: the day after a commission is finished is a little empty, a little sad, and totally awesome. I feel like a new person.
