Kids Know How It’s Done

I loved this TED presentation, especially the way it relates to my own creative process. Too often I try to micro-manage my writing before I’ve written a note, endlessly planning for that moment when I will begin to compose. But I’ve found that if I just begin writing, put a couple of sounds together and then start playing with them, there is an organic, low-stress evolution of the piece. It feels less like the piece is being composed and more like the piece is emerging. Anyway, I loved the video.
