Last week, one of Eric’s newest choral works The Sacred Veil had its Sydney premiere at the Sydney Opera House.
Is it possible for a performance to be too perfect?
It’s hard not to be moved by The Sacred Veil… The words – which the audience is urged to read – are as unremittingly touching as the composer’s writing for voice is deft. Anyone in the Opera House’s most cavernous hall who has seen cancer, or death, or loss, or life, must be moved.
