The Cincinnati Pops Has a New Conductor
This announcement is a couple of months old, but I had to share it anyway: my dear friend John Morris Russell has been named the new conductor of the Cincinnati Pops! John was (and is) a true mentor to me – I spent several summers as his assistant at the College Light Opera Company, and it is not an exaggeration to say that nearly everything I know about conducting I learned from him. CONGRATULATIONS, MAESTRO!
